‘Near and Far : Drawing Landscape Journeys’

When & Where: 1100 - 1530, Sunday 8th September 2019 | Bonhoga Gallery, Weisdale, Shetland

Join us for an afternoon of drawing and journeying through Shetland’s ever-changing landscape. In this drawing and walking workshop, we’ll record observations as we walk, sketching impressions of distant views as well as closer natural forms and moments in nature. Returning to Bonhoga, we’ll then use our observations and sketches to make further work, arranging and developing our impressions to make drawings which give a sense of journey and unfolding change over time. To learn more about how we draw journeys through the landscape, the day will also include an introduction to representing space in drawing, looking at how pictorial depth can also be an expressive and imaginative visual device.
