‘Mountain with its Head in the Clouds’
‘Mountain with its Head in the Clouds’
2024, charcoal on paper, 1800 x 900mm (approx)
The final work I’m sharing from ‘Immersion’ is a journey in a winter landscape. Drawing this was a way of revisiting my memories, collaging together viewpoints, and layering this with trying to understand something of the topography. At the end, I still felt like I’d only explored such a small part of the environment, and the place it has in my memory. But I was really interested in the endlessness of this, that landscapes (and maybe especially winter landscapes) occupy this kind of unknowable dream-space that’s keep drawing you back.
