Da Voar Draw - Day 1

Welcome to Da Voar Draw, a series of daily creative activities taking a fresh look at nature through drawing!

Over the next 14 days we're going to take inspiration from something in the natural world each day, making drawings from observation, but also considering the hidden processes and forces that shape these forms.

Our first natural form is Roots!

Of course, roots are everywhere in nature, their subterranean lines extending far beyond the plants and trees we can see above the surface. They anchor, absorb water and nutrients, and in some plants even enable reproduction. Though hidden, they are crucial to life on earth.

For these first few days, we’re going to use the humble line to explore our natural forms. A line is drawing in its simplest form, and today’s activity will get our pencils moving and our eyes looking - ready for the next two weeks of drawing!

So get your drawing materials ready, and keep reading for your first activity!

And when you’ve made your drawings, don’t forget to share them using #DaVoarDraw, or post in the event page on Facebook – it would be great to see your work and start creative conversations!
